Planet Ocean selected as Winner Of Best Cinematography at Blue Ocean Film Festival

“Everyone !!! I mean EVERYONE loved the film. And not just because of the beautiful images – but because of the incredibly powerful message to save our Planet Ocean … and everyone was there …”

2012 Laurels Best of Festival

… veteran field producer and cinematographer Andy Casagrande reported when he accepted the award for ‘Best Cinematography’ on behalf of the film at Blue Ocean Film Festival, Monterey. He read a short statement from Yann Arthus-Bertrand and Michael Pitiot, co-directors of Planet Ocean:

“… Planet Ocean has been an unbelievable success story since the very first day, the day when the firm Omega offered Yann to sponsor the film with no intrusion from their side in the content, as long as we make the film “true and beautiful”.

“Everywhere we went, we have met people ready to act for the protection of our ocean, to share their experience, their tools and work … people from Australia, South Africa, England, Norway, France, China, Chile… a total of 34 countries where we needed to fly and dive to film.”

“… And the story is going on with you too. Planet Ocean is starting a big tour around the world… let’s share Planet Ocean, we hope you find it “true and beautiful” and… thank you so much (for this award). “

Signed, warmly — Yann and Michael.
